The Institute for Greening Education in Nigeria (IGEN) will take part in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026.

Our delegation, led by our Executive Secretary, Unyime Robinson, comes with a clear message: Africa's low-carbon future depends on a generation with the knowledge, skills and values to sustain it. Climate change education is core infrastructure investment, not an afterthought.

At COP31 we want to meet and work with:

🤝 Governments and ministries of education, environment and energy

🤝 Development partners, foundations and climate finance institutions

🤝 Energy, oil and gas, and private sector companies

🤝 UN agencies, multilateral bodies and research institutions

🤝 Civil society, educators and youth networks

We are open to:

✅ Bilateral meetings and partnership discussions

✅ Speaking slots on panels, pavilion sessions and side events

✅ Collaboration on climate education, green skills and green schools across Africa

✅ Joint programmes, research and investment in greening education

We will share insights from our work, including:

📘 Our State of Greening Education report and Policy Brief

🌱 The Greening Schools and Climate Change Education Intervention (GSCCEI), delivered under Nigeria's Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)

⚡ Green skills training in solar PV, CNG conversion, smart agriculture and the circular economy
